Son Del Mambo is a passionate and vibrant dance school dedicated exclusively to Salsa On2 (Mambo) – also known as New York Style Salsa.
Unlike other salsa styles such as Cuban or LA-style (On1), Salsa On2 is known for its musicality, flow, and emotional expression. The subtle pause in the basic step allows dancers to truly connect with the rhythm and feeling of the music.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced dancer, you’ll find a welcoming and inspiring environment to grow your skills and passion.

What We Teach

Salsa On1 is a style of salsa where the basic step is organized around the “1” beat of the music. It is often associated with Los Angeles-style salsa (LA Style) and is known for its energetic, expressive and visually dynamic character.

Salsa On2 (Mambo), also known as New York Style / Mambo, is a style of salsa where the basic step is danced in relation to the 2-beat of the music. It has a strong connection to the mambo and New York Latin dance tradition.
Our specialty! A smooth and expressive salsa style that allows you to dance with precision, flow, and emotion. We focus on timing, technique, body movement, and musical interpretation.

Urban Kiz is a modern partner dance that developed from Kizomba, but has evolved into its own distinct style. It combines connection, body control, musicality, technique and modern urban music. Unlike traditional Kizomba, Urban Kiz often uses a more linear and dynamic movement vocabulary, with changes of direction, stops, accelerations and controlled weight transfers.

🎶 Musicality is essential

Urban Kiz is not simply about learning figures.
You learn to listen to the music and translate:

  • 🎵 Bass → grounded movement
  • 🥁 Percussion → accents and steps
  • 🎶 Melody → interpretation and flow
  • ⏸️ Breaks → stops, freezes and changes
  • 🔥 Drops → dynamics and powerful movements

The dancer learns to play with the music, rather than continuously moving through combinations.


Tarraxo is a modern evolution within the Kizomba/Tarraxinha family, known for its deep connection, controlled body movement, isolations, musicality and powerful interpretation of the music.

Where Urban Kiz often plays with direction, distance and dynamic movement, Tarraxo focuses much more on body communication and subtle movement between two dancers.

🤝 Connection is everything

In Tarraxo, the connection between leader and follower is extremely important.
Instead of using large movements, dancers communicate through very small changes in:

  • Weight
  • Tension and relaxation
  • Hips
  • Chest and torso
  • Shoulders
  • Body isolations
  • Pressure
  • Direction
  • Timing

The goal is not to force movement, but to communicate through the body.

🎵 Musicality

Tarraxo gives you a lot of freedom to interpret the music.
You can play with:
Slow → fast → stop → vibration → isolation → accent → release
A small musical accent can create a small movement, while a strong beat can inspire a much more powerful body response.

This makes Tarraxo very personal and expressive.
